I know that my imagination is directly effected by my reading ... which is a neat thought that we truly can effect who we are at all levels of our psyche.

These two were painted around the same time. The one on the left expresses some of the different identities that we go through in life... The screaming naked woman coming out of the cave represents a naked soul ... hungry for an identity.... The one on the right represents super-ego (orange woman) and she is "sucking" the life out of the id and the ego is trying just to look the other way, deny. I read on wikpedia that when Freud wrote about the id, ego and super-ego he literally named them (in German) the id "it"; the super-ego "over-I' and the ego "I".
